Westlife’s Best Songs – RANKED

Westlife have sold more than 55 million records worldwide and are the only band to have their first seven singles enter the UK chart at No.1. They also have the most singles of any artist to debut at No.1 in the UK.

Overall the band have had an incredible 14 No.1 singles, behind only Elvis Presley and The Beatles. They have had 33 No.1 albums worldwide!

With so many great songs under their belts, how do you choose your top ten? Don’t worry – we couldn’t either. So here is our top 11 ?

11 . “Unbreakable”

This was Westlife’s 11thnumber 1 UK single. It debuted at 194 and reached number 1 the following week! A huge climb up the charts!

10 . Home

An absolute banger from 2007. When Simon Cowell first suggested to Westlife that they should cover this Michael Buble classic they weren’t keen. Good job they changed their minds though – this got all the way up to number 3!

9. Mandy

Can you believe the original of this song is Brandy – not Mandy?! It is considered as the single with the furthest leap to the top in UK music history. It went from number 200 in the charts all the way up to number one in just a week!

8. The Rose

This is the band’s most recent UK number 1 from back in 2006! The boys released two videos for this, one in black & white and one in colour. Don’t know about you, but we prefer the original monochrome. ⚪️?

7. My Blood

This song was co-written by Ed Sheeran and the heart-warming music video features all the band member’s children – how could we not love it?

6. “World of Our Own

As well as being a killer single, the album of the same name won Westlife a whole host of awards across the world!

5. You Raise Me Up”

This was the first song Westlife released after Brian McFadden’s departure and what a song it is! This is their biggest streamed song in the UK, with over 19 million streams!

4. When You’re Looking Like That”

This track was written with Max Martin on the team (who has worked with the likes of Brtiney Spears, Backstreet Boys and Celine Dion to name a few!), so you know that this is pop gold-dust.

Although it was never released as a single in the UK, to date it is one of Westlife’s most streamed songs.

3. Uptown Girl

Westlife’s cover of this Billy Joel song is the 10th best-selling single of all time in Ireland and was the comic relief charity single in 2001.

Random fact of the week: It’s slightly shorter than the Billy Joel version as it emits the repeated verse. The more you know ?

2. Hello My Love

A new one and a catchy one! Ever since its release in January 2019, we can’t help but sing along whenever we hear it!

The single is featured on their newest album Spectrum, which is their first release of new music in nine years! The boys have definitely still got it if this track is anything to go by.

1. Flying Without Wings

Flying Without Wings is Westlife’s fourth best selling single of all-time, but we have no doubt that it is their best song!

Not only did it win them Record of the Year in 1999, as well as Smash Hits Music Award for Favourite Download in 2004,  it also spent a huge 13 weeks in the chart!
