Every Craig David album – ranked from worst to best!

With such a huge back catalogue of music – including 2 UK Number 1 Albums, 23 Top 40 UK Singles and having spent 260 weeks in the UK Top 75 – we knew it’d be a challenge to pick and choose Craig David’s best music.

But we made our way through all seven anyway to rank them from our least to our absolute favourite! Check it out!

7. Signed Sealed Delivered
Signed Sealed Delivered

Released back in 2010, Signed Sealed Delivered was Craig’s fifth album. It consists mostly of covers sampling plenty of Motown era tracks.

Although we are massive fans of a Craig David cover (have you seen him covering Dua Lipa in the live lounge? If not, it is a must see – here) – we definitely prefer his original stuff. That unfortunately puts this album in last place.

6. Trust Me

Trust MeCraig’s fourth  album was recorded in Havana, Cuba and released in 2007.Trust Me includes tracks: 6 of 1 Thing and Awkward featuring Rita Ora.

This is perhaps Craig’s least successful album (his lowest charting – reaching no.18 in the UK Album Charts). But because it features Top 10 single Hot Stuff – which samples David Bowie’s Let’s Dance – we couldn’t put Trust Me in last place.

5. The Story Goes…

The Story GoesReaching the Top 5 in the UK Albums Chart, and featuring one of Craig’s many Top 5 singles, this album definitely had a different feel compared to his first two.

Pulling from his own experiences, the album features more personal lyrics and topics – from break ups to bullying. Although released back in 2005, it’s hard not to relate to this album even today… go have a listen to Don’t Love You No More if you don’t believe us!

4. Following My Intuition

Following My IntuitionCraig returned with a bang thanks to Following My Intuition in 2016! Debuting at number one on the UK Albums Chart, this gave Craig his first number one album since his debut back in 2000.

This colourful album included huge hits: Ain’t Giving Up with Sigala and When the Bassline Drops with Big Narstie. It also included the official Children in Need single for 2016 – All We Needed. After a six year break between albums – Following My Intuition shows that Craig’s still got it.

3. Slicker Than Your Average

Slicker Than Your AverageCertified 2x Platinum in the UK and reaching No.4 in the UK album charts – Slicker Than Your Average takes the bronze position in our ranking.

Perhaps because Rise & Fall featuring music legend Sting is one of our all time favourites, or maybe because everyone had a poster of this album cover on their wall back in the day. Whatever the reason – Craig’s second album was one of the best releases of 2002 and we’re still listening to it today.

2. The Time Is Now

The Time Is NowWith an 18-year gap between this and his debut album, Craig clearly shows how he’s grown as an artist. The Time Is Now comes with a whole host of collaborators, including JP Cooper and Chase & Status.

We are loving the new sound he’s bringing, the concept behind the album and especially the Top 5 single I Know You with Bastille – that’s why we’ve ranked it at Number 2!

1. Born to Do It

Born To Do ItWe’ve got to give the top spot to Craig’s debut album – Born to Do It – released in 2000. The album features massive hits including, Fill Me In, 7 Days and Walking Away. In a 2009 poll devised by MTV to find the Greatest Album Ever, MTV viewers voted Born to Do It as their second most favourite, behind Michael Jackson’s Thriller!

Certified 6x Platinum in the UK, this is one of the best-selling albums of the century and still much loved today.

Anyway, it’s clear that Craig David knows how to write a hit and from his first album to his most recent, we can’t get enough!
