The Lightning Seeds kicked things off in Liverpool on Friday, as they headlined after evening racing.

The perfect start to the summer on a gorgeous day at Aintree Racecourse was made even better thanks to The Lightning Seeds headline show!

The sun was shining early on, while guests arrived to enjoying the six card race ahead of the evening’s entertainment.

A set full of big hits

Even if the guests didn’t go home with any winnings, they did get an incredible set from The Lightning Seeds! The outdoor stage in the Red Rum Garden of the racecourse made for the perfect setting for a fantastic evening of racing & music.

The Liverpudlian legends played all their biggest hits to the hometown crowd. Their set list included some of their best tracks: Sense, Life of Riley, Sugar Coated Iceberg and Pure.

Special appearances

There were a couple special guests on stage during the show. Lead singer Ian Broudie had his son Riley on stage throughout the performance playing guitar. While, Abi Heading from The Zutons join the band on stage and played saxophone during several songs!

A definite crowd pleaser

The band rounded off a fantastic evening with an encore of Three Lions to the delight of the Aintree Racecourse crowd.
