Here’s a few facts you may not know about the boys:
James McVey (The Vamps’ guitarist) discovered fellow band member Bradley Simpson on YouTube! Brad later became the lead singer of the band.
Tristan Evans (The Vamps’ drummer) met James and Brad on Facebook and joined the band soon after.
While Connor Ball (The Vamps’ bass player) met the three of them through a mutual friend.
So you may already know that fans of The Vamps are called Vampettes, but we bet you didn’t know that their male fans call themselves Vampions!
Before becoming headliners in their own right, the boys supported huge stars including Demi Lovato, The Wanted, Little Mix and Taylor Swift!
A cover The Vamps did of a Taylor Swift song back in 2014 has had over 6.4 million views!
And the official music video of their single with Demi Lovato reaching almost 133 million!
(By the way, you can see Demi Lovato at Newmarket Racecourses too! She’ll be headlining on Saturday 9th June – click here for tickets)
Just on their Facebook page, they rack up a mammoth 6 millions followers!
While, across all their Instagram accounts amass another 6 million.
But Twitter is their biggest platform by far… All their accounts add up to a total of almost 12 million followers!
That means across all their social networks, The Vamps have over 24 million followers! ?
For the whole of February James did a take over of the Maserati GB Instagram. He took the Levante S Gransport for a spin around The Lake District, and got some of the coolest pics.
Recently the band have been involved in a few interviews talking about men’s mental health and gender equality. They are really involved with charity work and creating positive change. Could we love them anymore?
“We have been given a platform where a fair few million people care what we do and say, so we should use it wisely.” – James
“I firmly believe that we should have somewhat of a moral obligation to be vocal about issues like this. Gender equality as a thing is something everyone should strive to achieve – it’s not a controversial issue – for me it’s a very obvious thing to support. I think if you’re able to portray that at big, influential events – so many millions of people watch these things – if it was down to me personally I would always use that as a platform for positive progression and change.” – Connor
Brad owns a Gin Bar in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, with his parents. Family business, how adorable. ?
Out of all the pets they have between them (some dogs, some cats, guinea pigs, hamsters and a horse), Connor definitely has the coolest companion. His best pal is Rex, the bearded dragon.
We are so excited to see them on August 25th!
